ADA TITLE II TRAINING

Monday, March 16, 2009, Concord 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Wednesday, April 15, Gastonia 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

  • Municipal ADA Coordinators
  • Non-profits that receive city, county or state money
  • Anyone who is interested in knowing more about the ADA 

Topics:

  • what is and isn’t in the law
  • who is and isn’t protected by this law
  • who must comply with the requirements
  • definition and examples of discrimination
  • ways to make your programs accessible
  • how to provide effective communication
  • what is and isn’t a service animal
  • acceptable excuses for not providing access
  • what to do about historic properties
  • why and how to involve your local citizens’ advocacy group
  • what happens if you don’t comply with the ADA
